The Franklin Zoo and Wildlife Sanctuary is open every day (including Christmas and New Years Day) 9am to 5 pm. There are interactive talks from zoo Keepers each day, Monkeying Around talk at 11am and Wild Encounters at 2pm.
There are many sites for picnics, you can book the Education Centre or Barn for functions. You can bring a picnic, buy snacks from our shop or hire a B.B.Q. You are welcome to visit the zoo then go off site and explore Pokeno, Tuakau or even visit Port Waikato. You are able to revisit the zoo for no further charge in the same day. Travel to the Sanctuary takes 50 minutes from Hamilton and Auckland.
