The Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust

The Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust was established in November 2008 to provide teaching programmes to promote the understanding and awareness of:

  1. The welfare and care of animals
  2. Conservation including the need to conserve natural habitats of different animal species to ensure their future survival and well being
  3. Delivering junior zoo keeper and school holiday programmes for children.

The Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust purpose is to provide a home for the rehabilitation for at risk exotic and native animals and birds that have been displaced from small zoo closure and retired from the circus.

Homes are provided for species that require placement to assist the Australasian Species Management Program by providing places for exotic species that do not fit into social groups in other zoos.

Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005 on 30 June 2008.
